Wicked Wizards
Introducing Wicked Wizards, a dynamic 4-player co-op FPS game with networked multiplayer capabilities. Dive into the role of malevolent wizards, set on obliterating the forces of good from the realm. Proudly presented as the capstone project of Bradley University's 2023 senior class, this ambitious venture brought together an unparalleled team of 38 students, making it the most expansive project team I've had the privilege to collaborate with.
Role & Contribution
As an integral member of the world team, I specialized in programming interactive elements, crafting an immersive environment. I worked on interactable objects within the world such as exploding plants that damage enemies, and the movement of the orb that the player had to defend. A challenge with this project was working alongside a multitude of other programmers without causing issues, as well as working with our implemented networking functions.
Another big challenge for me personally was having a few items I worked on cut from the game. I had crafted a Escort the Payload type game mode, which included walls that stopped the payload from moving and a scripted movement path. Unfortunately we ran out of time to make this game mode a reality, but I not only learned a lot from working on this game mode but I also was able to use some of the code from this cut segment for other aspects of the game, such as the destructible walls making an appearance as a main feature in the game.
